Learning

students celebrate culture

A welcoming place for kids to learn and discover!

Children are born naturally curious and our job is to keep them wondering, questioning and exploring! We give our learners safe and welcoming place to explore the world around them. We look beyond academics to really see each child and understand what they need to succeed. We build strong minds, strong hearts and strong bodies by giving students fun, hands-on experiences with lots of movement and activity throughout the day.

“The teachers are the district’s greatest gift. Our children feel loved and supported at school.”

Our teachers personalize learning and meet students where they are so they'll be excited and motivated to learn. And, of course, we provide solid instruction in literacy, math, science, social studies, art, Physical Education, media and general music. Opportunities to participate in our district's award winning band, orchestra and choir programs begin in 5th grade.

Caring Relationships

Students get to know one another and develop meaningful relationships with teachers and other staff through:

  • Small learning environments
  • Family events and activities like carnivals and family dances
  • Regular communication, both in person and electronically, between teachers and families
  • Extra help and encouragement from intervention teachers and other support staff

Personalized Learning

Learning is personalized based on each student’s strengths, passions and unique needs:

  • Exploratory experiences both in and outside the classroom
  • Hands-on projects that allow students to explore the things they’re interested in
  • Digital devices and technology to help tailor lessons and experiences to each child

Hands-On Experiences

Learning is made more relevant and engaging with things like:

  • LEGO robotics, Dash and Dot robots and other technologies to teach coding, problem solving, math skills and more
  • Community experts working alongside students on real-world projects
  • Lots of movement breaks and activities to re-energize their brains and get kids moving

““Our schools are doing a great job of welcoming in our students and families.”
